The Road So Far
Most people who meet her simply know her as Sasha. She'a a large half-orc with dark curly hair, a beaming smile on her green freckled face, and a curious blue flame hanging around her neck in a tiny lantern. Dedicated to Beacon, the goddess of travel, her strong faith and even stronger wanderlust have carried her by land and sea around the known world. She has a big heart, and just likes to do good things for the sake of it.
Born to an orc mother and human father, Sasha spent most of her childhood living with her mother Vola and seven younger siblings, studying under the healers and doulas of her community until she left the tribe in her mid-teens (~10-12 in half-orc years?). With her mom's help, she was able to track down her birth father; a fiery, flamboyant sea captain named Hurley Beauregard Wolfe. He welcomed his newfound daughter with open arms, and Sasha Wolfe quickly earned a spot on the Anemone as the crew's medic/sawbones. She discovered a love for cooking and music, and would lead shanties and play the guitar for anyone who asked.
Sasha found her faith in Beacon after being tossed overboard one night when a freak storm hit the Anemone (around age 19). The next morning, she woke up on a shore near a port town she'd never been to, and sitting by her side was a mysterious blue-eyed woman who claimed to be her rescuer. After the deity revealed herself to the half-drowned half-orc, Sasha pledged her life to the goddess' cause: protect travelers and destroy anything or any one who would threaten their safety.
Taking a break from the sailor life, Sasha began traveling the roads and met who were her best friends in the world. Finn was an outgoing blue dragonborn with a contagious laugh and rapier wit, and Gwendolyn was a shy young human woman with a beautiful singing voice and her own internal demons to fight. Sasha would lose them both during her only trip to Galik Talwen in an incident she still can't talk about easily (age ~20).
In her grief, Sasha joined the next ship she found and sailed for 3 years, throwing herself into long and dangerous journeys that kept her away from land for months at a time. Among the crews she shipped off with, she gained a reputation of being quiet, distant, and a little cold, only interacting with her peers when she absolutely had to. She found herself lost, physically and spiritually, with every trip as she drifted further from the world and from Beacon.
When she was 23, Sasha found herself in a sketchy part of a port city in Londe late at night and saved who would become the love of her life from a mugger. At the time, the tiefling Lilith Blueflame was studying illusion magic at a prestigious arcane college (wizard u??? idk) and had been out with her familiar (a big orange one-eyed cat she calls Good Morning) that night taking a break from a grad project. The two women fell in love hard and fast, and later that year their wedding was held on the Anemone by none other than Captain Wolfe.
Sasha saved Lilith that night, but Lilith saved Sasha right back - her support and love helped Sasha to rekindle her faith and to not just survive, but live to the fullest despite her past mistakes and regrets. With some help from Sasha's old ship crew and her paladins-in-arms, the two built their home in Bluff-by-the-Sea, a fishing and trading town right on the northern coast of Londe. Whenever Lilith isn't busy with her studies or experiments, the couple travel together whenever they can, checking off one bucket list destination after another on a wall-sized map of Aelik they keep in the living room.
