Starhaven Pantheon
A large network of gods and general holy beings that work together to help the planet of Aeldrithius prosper. It has a collection of various pantheons within it.
Structure
All the way at the top of the hierarchy are the Goddess(es), which are the original founders of the pantheon. They help regulate the various sub-pantheons within, as well as control the elements of the planet to prevent any natural disasters from occurring. They don’t usually create their own life, except with exceptions of pantheon members themselves, and sometimes their own mortal creations. They’re referred to with the “Vyr” (pronounced veer) honorific.
Below them are God(s), who primarily create new life and bloodlines and regulate the mortals. Each god is specifically assigned one class of species, though it is possible for them to rule over multiple creations of multiple classes (ex; Ch’fete who rules over mnemonii and loxodonta elephants. They’re colloquially referred to as goddaughters, and officially use the “Vyre” (pronounced vair) honorific. Those of this pantheon set general rules that is expected of each mortal to follow. Some may be lax, or set very strict rules on how to live life.
In the same tier still use the label God(s), but are part of a different sub-pantheon. Their primary focus is on creating hybrid species and bloodlines, allowing sentient mortals of different classes to intermingle. These gods don’t necessarily set new rules, though they work with the other pantheon to make agreeable religious terms if two classes’ religion clash. They’re colloquially referred to as godsons, and use the honorific Vcl (Vyrcal, pronounced vair-cul).
Both tiers of hierarchy above have their own unique pantheons of Angels that they rule over. Their primary focus is to interact with the mortals to retain order, or to help directly serve the goddesses and gods depending on rank. All angels use the honorific Mor (pronounced like more), though Archangels are referred to as Vy-Mor (pronounced vee-more) more specifically in a formal manner.
The highest rank are known as the Archangels. They work closest to the goddesses and gods, and help organise and carry out orders from those above them. They’re the only group of angels to work with both higher tiers, as well as being the smallest group.
Just below them are the Hosts, angels that fight for the honour of the pantheon and planet as a whole. One pantheon of this tier works with the goddesses, whilst the other works with the gods. Those who work with goddesses rarely ever show themselves to mortals, and more often than not fight cosmic or holy battles that require more power and effort. The other pantheon of Hosts are colloquially called knights, as they fight alongside mortal soldiers and help influence the tide of war.
In the next tier are the Messengers. They exclusively work to deliver important messages regarding situations that tend to elude even the eyes of goddesses themselves. They often work directly with archangels, but also report to goddesses and gods is needed.
The final tier are the Saints. They’re leaders of religious organisations, and communicate directly with messengers. Mortals who wish to enter the pantheon must start out by becoming religious figures of some kind, and usually become a leader before death. Most angels in this tier are demi-gods (though saints are mortal), a state between mortality and immortality. It’s considered the only positive way for a mortal to become a deity. They directly interact with regular mortals to help spread the word of the goddesses, and help them active spiritual peace as best as possible. Some saints can ascend to higher tiers after death depending on the approval of the goddesses directly, but more often than not they’re rejected from entering the pantheon and join a separate group of powerful beings. As long as they remain in the goddess’ good standing they can keep their demigod abilities if they died as one, or choose a certain path to take in the afterlife.
Public Agenda
The ultimate objective is to help all mortals become a god or deity of some kind. Though this is frowned upon by more ancient gods of different realms, it doesn’t stop the Starhaven pantheon from trying to help spiritually enlighten as many people as possible and help them find inner peace.
Divine Origins
It developed slowly as the four founders came together and realised they all had similar goals in mind. They rejected the conservative idea of keeping godhood a secret, and worked long to make a functional system that could help the most mortals. It still has had work to be done before its eventual downfall, but it had great opportunity to succeed.
Cosmological Views
The understanding is that all life overlaps each other to create something new. Life cannot exist without a spark, and that spark is constantly set off by the sheer will of existence.
Priesthood
There are multiple ways to become a guide of the faithful. Religious philosophisers are highly praised for their ability to debate the meaning of existence and question the status quo. They’re often granted priesthood later in their life.
As long as the person can lead by example in some aspect or another they’ll be given priesthood status. This usually involves taking inspiration from the archangels, as each one of them represents a fundamental tenet of the religion. Although it’s not an easy process officially being given says status, it is possible to earn it without even trying to do so in the name of the religion. Those who ascend through selfless acts are known to be extremely powerful when they become deities, and it’s one of the rarest ways to obtain priesthood.
