Terracotta Constructs

Though the identity of the original inventor of these constructs is unknown to the general populace of Yìshù-Zhǎnshì, it has been said that a historian constructed the first golem's body in order to contact spirits from long-dead civilizations, only for the constructs to perform simple actions and lack the ability to speak entirely.   Terracotta constructs are a pillar of Yìshù-Zhǎnshì's society, making up approximately 10% of the country's working class, with a large majority of these constructs being owned by wealthy tycoons.   These constructs are very simply programmable by workers, as they learn by replicating actions they have witnessed. A terracotta construct can perfectly replicate any action it has witnessed with the current tool it is equipped with, however, these constructs are completely incapable of free-thinking. These constructs are instead commandable by vocal or visual commands, which has led for the public-service constructs to be commanded by specifically-colored complexly-patterned signs around their designated work areas.     These constructs typically have a life-cycle of around 3-4 years, which lasts until their internal paste wears down, severing the consciousness embued into the construct.

Utility

These golems used to be strictly owned by the Yìshù-Zhǎnshì military and tailored towards that purpose alone, wielding a managerie of sharp weapons, sometimes flamethrowers, and some even being used as suicide bombers. The golems' usefulness did not go unnoticed by the country's residents due to their lack of a need for sleep or resources, as well as the flexibility of their removable arms. The golems who had fallen into disrepair would be taken by residents and outfitted with different types of equipment for various laborious jobs, so one in Yìshù-Zhǎnshì could see these golems operating construction equipment, being police/firefighters, and even working around the houses of the rich as maids/butlers.

Manufacturing

As their name would suggest, these constructs are made of a composite terracotta compound which is mixed with small fragments of metal to increase their durability. These constructs are then brought to life through their insides being coated with a Fantasma Crystal ladened paste around their neck and chest area. These constructs, whether for commercial or military use, are constructed using assembly-line factories which can only produce up to 100 in one day, due to the lengthy and complex storing process it takes for the constructs to become animated. This storing process requires the golems to sit in a chamber for upwards of 1 month while the archmages who head the chamber pour their energy into the golems for 12 hours a day.
