Andor
Largest city and royal capital of the Kingdom of Andor. It serves as the home of the Armies of the West and the main port for the Boundless Sea.
History
Andor, the royal capital of the Kingdom, was constructed on the decree of Rodoric ConDoin, before his ascension as King Rodoric I. The completion of the city--coupled with Rodoric's ascension to the throne--marks the beginning of the Kingdom Era. Andor was built on a large, fertile plain that provided the perfect location for agriculture and trade. It quickly became a hub of commerce, attracting merchants and travelers from all over Aedrus. King Rodoric I was a wise and visionary leader, and he worked tirelessly to improve the lives of his subjects. Under his leadership, Andor became one of the most advanced and prosperous cities in the land. As the years passed, Andor continued to grow and prosper. It became a center of learning, with universities and academies dedicated to the study of magic and the arcane arts. It was also home to many skilled craftsmen, who built Castle Andor and the Cathedral of Triam in the decades to come. Following King Edgar I's assassination in 156 KE, the kingdom plunged into a civil war known as the War of the Lion. When King Garrick II eventually ascended the throne, the seat of royal power shifted to Gedone.
