Suns Item in Aedeva | World Anvil

Suns

Minted in Melavik by the Cirethian treasury, the Sun is by and large the most prolific of all coinage in Aedeva. There are four denominations of Sun in total.   In order to fight counterfeiting attempts, each Sun is enchanted upon creation. This enchantment nullifies duplication magic that targets the coin, prevents wear and tear on the coin, keeps the coin clean, and implants the coin with the magical aura of Cir himself. This aura can be easily viewed by both arcane and divine magicians to determine authenticity. There is also evidence that each Sun contains magic that allows the Lawbringers to trace its location in the event that a counterfeit attempt is made.   All of these features combined with the simplicity of converting between denominations make the Sun one of the most reliable currencies in Aedeva. Even outside the empire, Suns are used in most business transactions, and most other currencies have their values measured in relation to the Sun.

Constellation

Worth: 10 Suns   This beautiful, platinum coin is emblazoned with a myriad of tiny stars depicting each constellation in the night sky. It is said that the coins are enchanted to add stars should new constellations be raised. These coins are primarily used as a way to reduce the weight of coinage during travel.

Sun

This eponymous Sun is the most widely used currency throughout Aedeva, and is the basis by which the other denominations' values are measured. Measuring about an inch in diameter, and 1 millimeter thick, Suns are crafted from purified gold and emblazoned with a noonday sun.

Star

Worth: 1/10th Sun   This large, flat, silver coin is emblazoned with eight small stars surrounding a large, central star. This emblem represents The Council of Stars. The Star is most commonly seen in smaller towns, where most supplies are sold for less than one Sun.

Set

Worth: 1/10th Star or 1/100th Sun   This small, copper coin is emblazoned with the setting sun. These are primarily seen when it is necessary to make change, or in particularly rural towns. When held at the correct angle in the light, the rays seem to glow with brilliant hues of red and orange.
