History & Usage
Discovery
After the revelation, both ancient and transitory wellsprings began to appear all over the continent. At first, many were afraid to interact with these fonts of pure arcane energy for there was still much unknown, and therefore kept their distance. When the Wardens of the Wellspring started to venture closer, it made research possible. It wasn't long after that the wardens noticed the odd growth of colorful plants sprouting from the ground around the wellsprings. When one wizard decided to consume the flower, his casting ability was temporarily restricted, and veins around his neck darkened. After a couple of days, the effects dissipated and the wizard regained his magical abilities. Many took interest in research regarding fluxroot, especially alchemists and herbalists.
Manufacturing & Products
Alchemists took immediate action after learning of fluxroot's unique properties, and attempted to process it into more permanent consumable products like potions and poisons. After many attempts, it was the Corinians who learned by combining liquid fluxroot with various monstrous poisons they would be able to create a permanent anti-magical effect on an arcane user.
Distribution
Law & Regulation
Because of its effect on spellcasters, it is typically banned from refinement in most regions throughout the continent. However, it is put to great use by the Temporal Guardians within the Corinian Empire as a way to punish arcane users and remove the magical footprint from certain areas.
