Void Lurker
Void Lurkers were the first of the more "advanced" Void Beasts. Their aquatic nature enabled them to reach previously unattainable locations with the ferocity expected of these creatures. They are comparable to Void Minors in their purpose, just with the intent of striking from the water. They first came through the Void gates in 2402 BFB.
Basic Information
Anatomy
As a guide, imagine the vague shape of a crocodile. Like all early Void Beasts, they are quadrapedal, but with large webbed hands and impressive "musculature". They have very long bodies, much of which is their heavy tail, that enables fast and agile movement in calm and chaotic waters alike. Their heads and mouths strongly resemble that of the Minors and Majors before them, however they boast a far more powerful bite strength and a longer snout. They also have a dorsal fin stretching across their back and all along their tail.
Ecology and Habitats
Despite being a primarily aquatic creature, they are still a Void Beast. Without needing to eat or breathe, they have no trouble being either deep underwater or roaming the surface.
Additional Information
Average Intelligence
The Lurkers are capable of thinking for themselves but their decision making is flawed. For example, multiple Lurkers may attempt to attack a foe at the same time, colliding with each other in the process, or trying to all squeeze through a tight space at once. Despite their lacklustre ability to coordinate as a group, they are still very capable combatants.
Perception and Sensory Capabilities
The eyesight of these Beasts are a huge improvement over previous ones. The main reason being that they would need good eyesight to navigate the deep and dark waters of the ocean before surfacing for an attack. Their hearing is also significantly better as well, they are able to distinguish the direction the sound is coming from, as well recognise sounds they've previously heard before - which is a first for all Void Beasts.
Civilization and Culture
History
Void Lurkers were first introduced to Adremesis in mid 2402 BFB to make use of an underwater Void gate. They were safe from prying eyes deep below the surface and so Krel'Outama was able to test their capabilities in the water before starting an attack. They proved to be strong swimmers and would fill the small niche that Krel needed to attack Serezhi Manye. They attacked the city at the end of August the same year (First Battle for Serezhi Manye) and were an extremely powerful new foe for the raxarians to take on.
They became prevelant fighters in every conflict that remotely involved bodies of water. They earned their name because they would often lurk in shallow waters to ambush unsuspecting raxarians. They would be laid by Krel to functionally work as traps for any raxarian foolish enough to approach water without consideration. They were of course the main Beast present at the Second Battle and Drowning of Serezhi Manye.
