Executioner's Guild Headquarters in Braedon

In addition to my standard Summer Camp 2020 Author's note, I'd like to add that this particular article is very much a WIP. It might contain unfinished sections, missing names or temporary placeholders.

Purpose / Function

The Executioner's Guild Headquarters in Braedon houses the bimestrial gathering of the executioners of Rohsk. It primarily was (and still is) the dungeon underneath the Lord of Braedon's manor. Braedon's ruler allowed his executioner, Taedric to host the guild's meetings at the dungeon. When Taedric petitioned the Lord for a more... comfortable venue, the Lord of Braedon [TO BE COMPLETED].

Alterations

In order to be able to hold the Guild's meetings in a more comfortable setting, Taedric hung up some pieces of cloth to seperate the dungeon cells and torture table from the large table around which the meetings were held. This might block the view, but it sadly does nothing about the smell, nor about the woeful cries of agony of the 'residents' of the dungeon. The Guild's members on the other hand are used to this type of surrounding, so it doesn't bother them much.

One other alteration that Taedric made, unbeknownst to the Lord of the manor, is a small brewing installation in an alcove near the back of the dungeon. Here he brews his own version of Braedon's famous Lager; a tad stronger and less refined in taste, yet still equally liked by himself and the guardsmen. This also gave the dungeon its nickname.
His brewing installation is what provides the necessary refreshments during the Guild's meetings.

Architecture

In terms of its architecture, the dungeon of Braedon is as typical as a dungeon around Rohsk can get. It contains several holding cells, most with three walls of stone without windows, while the fourth wall is made of iron bars with a door. A few cells however are little more than metal cages, with iron bars on all sides. These are used for some of the less 'pleasant' detentions, taking away any opportunity for the prisoner to shelter in a corner to avoid harassment.

In a corner of the dungeon stands a torture table, on which prisoners can be strapped down to question them. A rack with an assortment of 'interogation tools' stands against the nearby wall. Often the sight of these instruments is enough to get the prisoners to talk. Such cases always disappoint Taedric, as he is considered an expert in the field of forceful interrogation. (It needs to be pointed out that the executioners in Rohsk not only perform the death penalty on convicts, but also maintain and operate dungeons for their lords/rulers, as well as assist the guardmen with interrogating suspects.)

On one side of the dungeon a large table has been placed with several chairs, specifically for the Guild's meetings. In between meetings Taedric will use it to play out historic battles with miniaturised wooden armies; one of his favorite passtimes in between work around the dungeon.

Author's Notes

This article was created during Summer Camp 2020 - as such it is a beginning rather than an end; the article will most likely be edited/changed in the future when the world of Adhonaglamar grows. This may explain any lack of visuals or a proper lay-out.
