Frostspire Hall
Frostspire Hall is the glacial fortress-palace and seat of power of Queen Lysandra Coldveil, ruler of the Iceshard Dominion. It stands as a towering bastion of sorcery, undeath, and unyielding cold, half-buried in the Iceshard Glacier itself. More than a castle, Frostspire Hall is a symbol of frozen dominion—a monument to control, preservation, and the terrifying endurance of undeath.
Purpose / Function
Frostspire Hall is not merely the seat of the Iceshard Dominion—it is the heart of its will. Its magic helps stabilize the surrounding glacier, repelling invasions, subduing storms, and preserving the souls of those bound to Lysandra. The Hall is said to be linked to the Scepter of Eternal Stillness, which channels its magic and anchors her dominion over the dead.
It is whispered that to destroy Frostspire Hall would be to undo the Iceshard Dominion itself, but few who have tried have returned alive—or at all.
Alterations
- The Soul Vaults:
Deep within the glacier beneath the Hall lie the Vaults, where ancient relics, enemy souls, and cursed tomes are kept. The vaults are guarded by frost-lich librarians and sealed by memory-locks—doors that open only to those who recall specific ancient knowledge. - The Echo Spiral:
A spiraling tower where Lysandra communes with her generals and receives visions from beyond the veil. Whispers of fallen souls echo along its icy curves. - The Revenant Armory:
A forbidden sanctum where the weapons of slain heroes are remade for the Shardborn Revenants. The forge runs cold, but the enchantments burned into the weapons' cores are deadly beyond measure. - Hall of Sorrows:
A haunting crypt-chapel where the names and deeds of those who failed the Dominion are eternally spoken by wailing ice spirits. It serves as both a tomb and a warning.
Architecture
- Exterior:
Frostspire Hall is carved directly from the ancient heart of the glacier, with obsidian-black stone towers jutting through sheer walls of blue-white ice. The spires glisten under the faint polar sun, casting eerie reflections across the endless tundra.
Glacial winds whip constantly around the high towers, and permanent blizzards are held at bay by arcane wards etched into the surrounding ice cliffs. - Interior:
Inside, the halls are vast and echoing, with high-vaulted ceilings made of translucent ice. Cold blue light pulses from veins of soul-ice embedded in the walls.
Undead sentinels, frozen statues, and magical constructs patrol its endless corridors. Tapestries of frost depict Lysandra’s victories and the icy fates of her enemies. - The Throne Chamber:
At the heart lies the Throne of Stillness, a towering seat carved from pure crystal ice and engraved with runes of binding and silence. Lysandra sits here during audiences, her presence chilling the very air to breath-stealing cold.
Before the throne lies a circle of soulfire, where prisoners and emissaries stand—bound by ice chains and watched by Shardborn Revenants.
