Akkarin Ladon
Akkarin Ladon was the Avatar for many years, but as Nyx disappeared his life changed. He disappeared into the far north, and only years later would he reamerge.

Personal history
As a child Akkarin was a fearful little boy. He hid in the shadows and soon learned to control them. He spent his young years helping his community until one day he was taken in by a mage. It didn't take long for him to master the knowledge from the other planes. He was truly happy until The Great War started. He was called to the front by Emeresia, and soon lost himself in the horror of war. He only found his conviction again when a young girl, Avelana Roseheart, was about to be killed on the battlefield. He saved her and, soon, they became inseparable. As the years went by Roseheart basically became his adoptive daughter. Eventually, both his and Avelana Roseheart's compassion was rewarded. As Silvana chose Roseheart, he was chosen by Nyx. In the following years they continued to fight until the Treaty of Arlen , where they both agreed that their power should be significantly regulated. Everything seemed to go well until Nyx grew more and more distant from him. Eventually she confided in him, revealing The Prophecy as she disappeared. Years later, after a final confrontation with Avelana Roseheart, he departed Branos, never to return. Slowly he began preparing an army for the end of the world.

After having lost the powers of an avatar Akkarin realized that to protect the people of Adatia, and the multiverse as a whole, he would have to find a way to first survive until the prophecy was fulfilled. Years he searched as his body slowly began to deteriorate, but his experimentation with black Xerak crystals began yielding results. He discovered that by combining red and black crystals through a complicated ritual, he could absorb the remaining life force from a recently deceased creature. Slowly he learned to infuse this life force within himself and prolong his body, though his soul was already responding to the call of the void. Breaking into the forbidden section of the grand library in Emeresia he was able to discover the secrets of immortality. Sacrificing half his soul he was able to turn his sword into a beacon, which his soul could use to return to meticulously perpared humunculi hidden throught the world.
As the years went by he began building a small empire hidden in Helcrax. Few know of the empire of the north or its elusive leader. His influence can be felt throughout the world. Decades after he had left Branos behind he has drawn numerous nations into countless wars, all in the intention of forging a stronger world. In these nations rumors begin emerging of a strange red cloaked man appearing at the edges of battlefields guarded by red crystal constructs.
Through time his mind began compensating for the fractured soul. A second personality emerged. This second conscious was much less egalitarian the Akkarin was, but still shared his goals. In time the second consciousness gained an ever larger foothold, influencing more and more of his actions, though he still remains unaware of it, even though he occasionally converses with it.
Mental Trauma
When his goddess abandoned him he realized something. The individual by himself has no value. The work he had done his whole life, raising individuals to become truly exceptional and helping society was a farce. The visions he saw, the truth, the future, they were all so horrible. More was needed and without the support of Nyx he needed more, to stop the end of the world. He was willing to become the villain of the piece to save them.
