In an effort to support the naval blockade, imperial forces attempt to land reinforcements through Crestos’ rugged northern frontier, planning to march south and join the siege at Kor Kýmatos. However, the forces are intercepted at the Black River Crossing by a mix of rebel troops from Crestos and defectors from the Royal Army. The imperial forces are heavily bogged down, and after hours of heavy fighting, they are forced to retreat, suffering considerable losses.
