Argus Stonehammer
King Argus Stonehammer (a.k.a. The Lifegiver)
Argus Stonehammer is a former adventurer, paladin of Sol and current king of Trumm and lord of the seven sisters. He is perhaps the most famous dwarf alive today.

Personal history
The early history of Argus is unknown, even to him. He first came to prominence under the name Argus as an adventurer with the adventuring company known as the Marching Band. On the island of Midvale he helped the local lord defeat an incursion of bandits, and became embroiled in a quest to defeat the necromancer Shara. In this pursuit he and his companions traveled across the north, visiting Ryva and Evonia both. During a visit to the city of Meldi on the Imperial Bay he was instrumental in healing the daughter of the local Count of a magically induced disease. For this act he was nicknamed "lifegiver". The Marching Band were instrumental in ensuring the succession of Gustaf II to the throne of Ryva in 951. A year later they killed the wizard Shara alongside representatives from both the Republic and the Empire. Following this victory the group broke up.
Argus briefly campaigned to assume the crown of Valammar but found little support. In 957 the Lord of the Seven Sisters died without issue. The Great Powers installed Argus as king since he was palatable to them all. In 960 revolt in Keld saw the king there killed. Argus was asked to assume the vacant throne.
While he introduced a harsh religious regime Argus won popularity through his personal charisma and the lowering of taxes. With protection granted by the Great Powers there was no need for more than a police-force and so he scaled down the army and navy. He also vitalized the economy in Keld itself by signing trade agreements with both Myzia and Evonia. He began several large building projects which have employed many thousand people. Much of this he financed with the vast wealth he had acquired during his adventuring days.
