Ghostwise

Demography and Population

The entire nation is halflings. All of them. Most of them live on the eastern half of the nation, with the western half basically being forests and marshlands.

Territories

They control everything north of the High-Hills, and goes north until you hit a mountain range. On the east and west they are cut off by the ocean.

Military

They dont really have a military.

Religion

The religion is less grand than in Yondalla, usually just with a few shrines to the halfling gods in every town. It holds a very minor role in halfling life. The halflings are also encouraged to worship whichever gods they like, causing many halflings to immigrate from the country to places where they can properly worship their new gods.

Foreign Relations

They don't like their neighbor to the south, Yondalla, due to a cultural disagreement years ago. Back then, there were 2 houses that were on top of the halfling nations, and they couldn't decide on a leader, so it lead to a nationwide referendum. The house of Ghostwise said they would become more of a political entity and end isolationism, while house Stout said they should instead become more of a religious entity, and their area could instead be a holy land for all religions. Where all can meet in peace. In the referendum, it also tied. So the north and south split along the High-Hills. They continue to fight in a cold-war to this day. They have opinions on all their fellow continent people. Go read on those articles I'm lazy.

Agriculture & Industry

The halflings grow a great many crops. Some of the crops include: Carrots Potatoes Pumpkins Melons They also have 2 other strong industries, making the Ghostwise a very economicly powerful nation. They have access to marble and granite, as well as copper in the mountains. They also have access to many orchards of apples. These things are traded for other goods that help build things up in the nation.

Trade & Transport

Most trade goes out the eastern side, as its the far more populated side. They do not trade to gain wealth though, they trade only for other material goods. These things are usually rare foods or drink, but sometimes they also trade for other things to build up the infrastructure of the nation.

Education

Most education comes from halfling parents, with no organized schools or universities. Education usually comes in learning to do manual labor, such as farming. They also learn about their culture, some history, and basic arithmetic, science, and literacy.

Infrastructure

Most paths are beaten by those who tread upon them. The halflings also have learned that some of their waste can be used to make fertilizer for their crops, so the sewers are near non-existent. Most access to water is made by town well. Defenses of the villages are very basic, usually just a fence around the perimeter.
