Halfling Press
Structure
Owner: The owner of the Halfling Press. There have been 4 different ones over the years, the current one being known as Periodoc Peverel. They manage all the underlings and decide what they want to learn about and where to find stories.
Publisher: Publishers are the ones who decide what stories get published and to which locations they are published. The Halfling Press is such a large company that in every nation they print a different newspaper so each location gets their own news. They essentially act as managers of their respective regions as well.
Editor: Editors look at the stories brought in and translate them to different tongues, as the reporters write them typically in halfling, but in some areas its necessary to translate them into other languages, and also editors correct typos. Very important.
Reporter: Reporters travel their respective regions, finding places of the most interest and finding stories to publish.
Culture
The Halfling Press is generally a highly trusted network, however in Yondalla they are boycotted due to the bad press coverage they've been given due to a bias against their nation. Other than in Yondalla, the halfling press is seen as trusted and reliable, and unbiased. Their own members just want to get money, do their jobs, and make sure that the people learn of important events. Good is in the nature of halflings, so doing the right thing comes easily to the halflings, which is one of the reasons they are generally trusted. They act as mostly a neutral ground on events unless they see one side as being obviously better, then they take that side.
Public Agenda
They just want to get the truth out, and spread the word and knowledge. All the owners swear an oath to make sure that the people of the world hear nothing but the truth from them. However, sometimes corruption does get out there. The 3rd leader of the Halfling Press was highly corrupt, and began a smear campaign against Khalid. Eventually, his succesor, Peridoc, performed a coup, ousting him from office and exiling him to the jungles where the elves live, where he wanders to this day. They returned to being a very unbiased and good source.
Assets
They arent a particularly rich company, only having about 1000 gold extra. They have a printing press and office in each of the major cities and towns in the world. They have dozens of reporters. They also have invented a magical way to write down the events they see unfolding before their eyes, and then they have a magical way to duplicate it many times very fast, about 1000 per hour.
