Obesk Peakes Province

The Obesk Peakes Province is one of the oldest parts of Cambriene. Confined to mountain tops and rocky plateaus, the Obeski found clever ways to survive and thrive in their harsh conditions. The Osbeki'Pec themselves are noted for their almost unkillable natures. A Obeski'Pec girl once fell into powdered snow and got out several minutes later with all her fingers still on. One way they survive is sheering and wearing the wool of a specific breed of Llama called an Oszeki'Pec Llama, noted for its strength and hardiness, but also its good quality wool.

History

As one of the confirmably oldest civilizations on the contient, Obesk Peakes has a long history.

Demography and Population

Obesk, despite it's large landmass, is sparsely populated. Villages are packed into, and located deep into safe and stable caves. The bigger villagers are location on flat stony peaks. But other than those two things, you could walk a thousand blocks and only encounter animals for your entire trek.

Territories

The Obeski'pec'es ('es: see dictionary, under possesive plural) lands have belonged to them for longer than is recorded in history. There have been document cave paintings and reliefs dating back to the time of the ancient builders, showing they had been in contact with them at least a handful of times. Several of these reliefs and paintings are being carefully studied by scientists and historians.
The land it's self is more often than not, stoney, gravelly, and covered in thick layers of snow. The pathways leading to their cave villages are cleared of snow everyday, several times a day, and is a specific job in their little society. While they were incoperated into the Cambriene fold, they joined peacefully, and through marriage. They have had no issues so far with the rest of Cambriene, and see no reason to try and gain independence.

Agriculture & Industry

Due to their inhospitable land, they can't farm traditionally. And due to the cold, water used for farming freezes. They farm by placing the farms deep inside the caves and planting hardy crops like beets and carrots. The lights used to grow the crops are either shroomlights or glowstone, both from the Nether. The heat from the lights melts the ice, allowing for irrigation. The farms are communally owned and farmed, and the farmers are rotated between all the members of the village. The Oszeki'pec llamas are cultivated in a different area of the cave, closer to the entrance.

Trade & Transport

Through centuries of work, there is mostly safe walkways crisscrossing the mountain sides, connecting several different villages and crossing thousands and thousands of blocks. These pathways are roofed by sturdy slanted wood, that is replaced every decade. These pathways are wide enough for their Oszeki'pec llamas to haul goods from one village to another.

Infrastructure

Since their villages are constructed in the region's natural caves, there is very little concern about protection from the elements. The individual homes are carved carefully out of the cave walls, making sure to not damage the integrity of the walls. Further ceiling supports are also common to find in these caves. The houses themselves are not anything special. Logs from nearby forests are processed into planks.
