A great fire burned the original buildings of Saugarth's to the ground

Originally, the buildings of Saugarth's Academy Of The Arcane were built entirely out of wood. At first this was fine, as the use of fire and electricity magic was strictly prohibited inside the buildings or close to them.
However, mysteriously, a fire started in one of the buildings and quickly spread to the rest. It didn't take long for the entirety of the school to be engulfed in flames and destroyed.
A vast majority of the books and records that were kept in the school's extensive libraries were luckily saved, though some were unfortunately lost.
Following this fire, the academy buildings were rebuilt out of stone. The university was officially reopened a couple years later.
