The Vel To'ori overthrow the tyrannical Tridomatrics, installing themselves as the official religion.

According to the Vel Tuturi History Tomes, the Vel To'ori were oppressed and demonized by the Tridomatrics for several generations, with raids on Vel To'ori temples being fairly frequent.
This stopped with the Great Rebellion, in which the Vel To'ori banded together as one and armed themselves. The fight began on the defensive, but as more Tridomatrics were defeated it became an offensive fight.
Eventually, the Vel To'ori stood victorious. On that day, they renamed themselves to become the Vel Tuturi. This marked the beginning of the Vel Tuturi Era.
