The Skykeepers

A religion formed after the upheaval of another human pantheon. The Skykeepers are the latest rendition of religion in human lands. Marked by their ruler, the Tempest King, this calls on heroes of the past that ascended to godhood and these new gods have a habit of checking in on their followers and the lands they hold.

Mythology & Lore

The Skykeepers pantheon was founded from the human heroes of the Long Night. They went to the north along with Rhenthir, the man who would be become the Lightbringer, to fight back against the demons. They left their homes, their people, and the ones they love behind. And they would never return home. Each fell in battle against the demonic forces, fighting to the last man. And yet death wasn't the end for them. It was a new beginning.

After the Long Night's end, the spirits of these valiant warriors were blessed with divinity becoming the new gods of humanity in place of the old gods that fell in battle. They returned to the south as guardians of humanity. But they could only watch as their home fractured without their heroes home to rule it. Yet they still defend what's left of their home as fervently as they did all those years ago.
