Fortunam Dei

The Fortunam Dei (Latin: God's Fortune) is an illicit organisation that primarily deals with information and the worship of Marielle as a cult-god within the Ortheian Kingdom.

History

When Lady Luck became an admin, Marielle trusted her with a few politicians she'd already influenced, telling her to use them to gather information and further influence in the foreign land of the elves. Using them and her charm and wits, Lady Luck gathered a small cult following which she calls the Fortunae.

Hidden Agenda

Lady Luck prioritises faith in Marielle as a cult-god above all things and the abandonment of the Five Deities as a spotlight of worship. As worship of cult-gods is illegal in the Ortheian Kingdom, she keeps Fortunam Dei on the down-low, indoctrinating others in secret and having hidden places of worship set up around the capital for the faithful. These shrines are small, winged statues placed in alleyways and atop tall buildings, where Eurekans can pray to Lady Luck and Marielle.

Besides faith, she implores all members to report to her about any and all happenings happening within the Kingdom as a whole or even just within the city. She then relays this information (if it is of any dire importance) to Marielle, and otherwise acts accordingly. She and Marielle are constantly plotting against the Kingdom and its military, working hard to counteract any plans they might have in the works. In this, Fortunam Dei has been very successful in keeping the Ortheians from invading Eurekan land.
