The Knowing Disciples

The Knowing Disciples are an order of academics who are followers of The Knowledge Keeper (Ioun). Their goal is to understand the universe and all its beings and phenomena by accumulating, preserving, and understanding knowledge of the world in all forms. Members of the Knowing Disciples come from many disciplines, however for the most part they are Artificers, Bards, Clerics (Knowledge Domain), Monks, and Wizards. Any Wizard or other mage who is a member of the Knowing Disciples typically practices outside the realm of Dynasty rule as the opinions of the Disciples and the Dynasty do not align when it comes to magic. However, by necessity there are those within the Disciples who are registered Dynasty Arcanists.

Locations

The Knowing Disciples of The Knowledge Keeper have archives located throughout Strivena , with locations in each of the major cities and capitals (Chakron, Anerith, Kathe). The Archives all hold significant collections of books, tomes, and scrolls detailing much of the knowledge and history of the world. Some are even thought to contain pre-cataclysm spells and writings.

History

Founded in 454 AC, the Knowing Disciples were founded with the goal of accumulating, preserving, and understanding knowledge of the world in all forms. The Disciples initially began as a small library in the great city of Kathe, founded below The Observant Lookout, an ancient mages tower near the centre of the city.
