Kraken
According to legend, the Kraken would reach its tentacles out od the Raging Abyss to grab soldiers.The Kraken is a legendary monster used in a lot of seafaring adventure games and books. It is also one of the most popular sea monsters in fiction.
Basic Information
Anatomy
The Kraken has two big eyes near its tentacles. It has nine tentacles at its bottom. Its mouth is a beak that is above the tentacles and under the rest of its body. Its head is squid-like and has three fines on its head. The fins are on the sides of its head and in the front center of the head. The two longest tentacles have spikes on the lowest parts of the tentacles. Its brain is in its head over its stomach. Although the brain is good sizes the Kraken does not have conative thought. The Kraken has three hearts, like real squids. It was two branchial hearts and one systemic heart, like real squids (www.squid.tepapa.govt.nz/anatomy/article/colossal-squid-the-inside-story).
Genetics and Reproduction
A Kraken hugs the head of a female Kraken. This is how they reproduce. The eggs are then stored in the female's body until she finds a safe place to release her egg sack. Once she does she lays her eggs in an egg sack, so the babies can be safe.
Growth Rate & Stages
The Krakens are hatched from eggs that their mother laid. The strongest babies eat their younger siblings to survive and get stronger. When the baby Krakens start to grow up they start to look like smaller versions of their parents. The babies are lighter in their coloring, while their parents are darker colored. Their eyes are a brighter color than the adults.
To grow up the young Kraken shed their skin as they grow. This give a natural source of Octo Fibers, but these fibers are more dangerous to get. Since it is floating around a bigger sea monster. As the Kraken sheds it grows darker as it ages. The young will be full-grown in about a year.
Dietary Needs and Habits
The Kraken eats mostly fish.
