The first citizens awaken in the Vault from their slumber.

On an unknown date 21 B.F, the first residents of the Vault were awoken from their slumber. They woke up to an unknown and unfamiliar environment. The residents had no recollection of the past, but had a sense of self; surprisingly, the mixed age crowd retained basic knowledge pertaining to everyday living.   The people found themselves stuck within this enclosed space, having no real sense of time and space for they were deep underground. Only the light crystals scattered about walls and ceilings gave them a sense of passing time.   Eventually, with the help of a library of scrolls, every individual slowly regained specific memories and skills. However, no one ever recalled anything prior to awakening. The library contained a vast amount of knowledge, from administration and business, to science and the arts. It allowed the citizens to gain knowledge or rediscover what was locked away in their minds.   While tensions were high, as indicated by surviving journals of the denizens of the vaults, the people of different races came together for the sake of survival and differences were put aside. Eventually, the common language was developed as were majority of the customs and traditions still followed today.
