The Edge of Heaven

"Ladies, Gentleman, all few, far, and between! I would love to welcome you to the boundaries of beyond, the margin of the mighty and the mighty-less, rim of the right and wrong, welcome to the Edge of Heaven!"
- Captain Adam Nebula
Within the Outer Reaches of Deep Space, there is a large asteroid, filled with mana from apocalyptic event after event. This mana has formed in the form of a neon liquid, that was soon discovered by a man named Kayden Nebula. This discovery made him rich, able to change the metals in weapons and armour to make them shine bright, and take even harder hits. Although this asteroid is just upon the border between the division of forms of magic. The liquid loses its magical properties upon crossing the barrier, which means the furthest that anybody can be from the other reaches of Deep Space and the Outer Reaches is here. Thus, his son had opened a settlement on the asteroid, to represent his love for what he considers an angelic world, being deep space. With that, he made the Edge of Heaven, a large space station that holds a motel, a pub, and also a shooting range into a nearby asteroid belt. People from all over the Outer Reaches come on by. It's a haven for outlaws, and it serves the finest of dining that a cheapskate can find themselves.
The Edge of Heaven is the name of this location, due to it's closeness to the barrier of these two different worlds of magic. A body of air surrounds the asteroid through a one mile radius. This is kept sufficient, and in a cycle, by pods of air which hold vials of the neon liquid inside, connected to a strange item that Adam calls an 'Air Element'. Ultimately, this is just a small magic rock which can disperse clean air, driven to a wild point of strength by the liquid. Any more than the small vial can cause disruptive results for the magic item. These are positioned around the local area of The Edge of Heaven, which is also sometimes referred to as simply 'The Edge'. About 200 people live here in a permanent stay, each with rather luxurious accommodation, with imported food from other settlements nearby. Staff are usually made up of Moonfolk, but Humans, Minotaurs, and creatures with a Plant-based species background, due to their loyalty, intelligence, and strength. Each of them fulfil different roles, the minotaurs are relied on for their brute strength, which makes them ample bodyguards and bouncers. The Moonfolk are crafty, nimble, and make for good staff for the more eloquent role, like advisors, cleaners, and bartenders. Lastly, Adam loves to keep a lot of humans in other jobs, mainly just because 'they make for good company'.
The shooting range, found a few minutes away from the main bar itself, is a field of miniature asteroids, targets, and extra, moving targets where Adam Nebula practices his skills as a gunman. The area is barred off to only the VIPs, meaning folks that have taken a liking to this new area, like N'garthud the Nihool, mainly due to the aberration's affinity to firearms. Although, he has only decided to stay at the Edge of Heaven due to his secret goal of killing Adam and taking this location for himself. Adam is too proud of himself to realise this, despite N'garthud's obvious attempts on his life. Some have even theorised that Adam is already under the Mind Flayer's enthrallment.

Government

The settlement is run, technically in a dictatorship, by Adam Nebula. He rules over the location but does not govern it necessarily. He is fine with most crimes, as long as he gets to profit off of it. He is often bribed to let most crimes happen, even though most of them he'd let happen for free!
Captain Adam Nebula, shortly known as just The Captain, is the leader of this small settlement, the MVP of the Edge of Heaven's bar. An overconfident, brash, and childish leader, Nebula makes a bad use of his day by gloating, drinking, and doing challenges within the shooting range. After his father's death, a tragedy he had no care over, Adam took to The Edge of Heaven, and shaped it from a calming home of serenity and activities, and turned it into, practically, a nightclub. Many of the old associates of his father had voiced their concerns, some even turning to duels against this incompetent leader. Although if there's one thing he is not incompetent in, it'd be his quickfire skills and abilities with a bastard sword that he kept locked away in a pool of this neon liquid long ago. Adam wears a set of armour that he made himself, as he claims, but his only modification to the suit is gold boots and shoulder pads. Adam often cuts corners, which makes his feet weak spots as the gold is easy to break. Adam is so awful at being what he claims to be, a mighty man or a powerful warrior. He made up a lie that he fought against an Astral Dreadnought by himself, but there has been no records of a dead Dreadnought in recent times, or any Dreadnoughts in the recent area, and those closest to him knows that he barely leaves. He thinks somebody will take over in his absence, so he just sends out people to deal with problems. To make this lie seem believable, he cut off his own hand, just to make others believe of his 'struggles' and 'valiant sacrifices'.
