Festival of Light

The Festival of Light is a city ceremony to celebrate the successes of the people of Elfar.

History

To celebrate the end of the wars in Elfar and the coronation of the king, it is placed on the kings birth week, from Monday to Friday, allowing all species to wear a Kitsune mask in honour of the First King of Tortvain. Usually, Taverns are full of patrons, and it used to be a week of discrimination to the Chitine and Drow species, but had fallen out of fashion. It is quite informal and began 300 years ago.

Execution

Day 1: Preparation, Kitsune masks are bought, taverns start to liven up, market places and Townsquare too. The first Castle Feast Commences and streets are decorated by commoners and other people.
Day 2: Some sporting events commence, similar to  The Halland Island Sporting Event 2: Electric Boogaloo Overall, more people begin to celebrate and the Second Castle Feast is served, and a bonfire is lit in the Town Square.
Day 3: More events occur, and is like day 2 but more active, and the next king will walk on the Bridge of Light across the entirety of the kingdom. 3rd castle feast occurs, which consists primarily of fine meats and rolls.
Day 4: More events than before, Leader and Heir go into the catacombs to begin the Coronation, with the Leader returning at the same night, only going through the light areas of the Catacombs.
Day 5: All events are replayed, town is more bustling. Heir comes out of The Catacombs and the final feast begins, being the end of the 5 day event. If the Heir fails to return, then they are excluded from the feat and will have to try once more. The foods are always the Heir's favourite, which can make it more spiteful for the heir if they lose.
