Havere Chapter 2, Session 4: Side Quest Catch-Up
General Summary
Date 11th of Tsuki 4824
By the time the Wukies get back to Le Phare Rochegris, all of the ceremony has ended. Belinda sends her familiar to scout around the building. The resident priest is finishing cleaning up, and it seems like it is just him in the lighthouse. The party determines it not worth engaging him again, and they decide to go to bed.
They wake up to the smell of coffee and oatmeal, and a cold draft coming through some of the windows and doors that the re-modelers have still not gotten to. They discuss what they want to do next as they eat their breakfast. They realize that they have not heard back from The Black Heart, and decide that Murgan should attune to the communication orb to speak with them when the time comes.
A knock at the door interrupts their planning, and Belinda answers it. It is Jaques-Pierre the teamster that Murgan had met some days before. He explains that due to the gang war, many of the workers he could normally rely on cannot help with the next shipment coming. He asks Murgan if he would indeed help. The job pays 10 gold, and discretion is of the upmost priority. Murgan agrees to the terms, and asks if Carnival can also join as he is also looking for work. Jaques-Pierre asks to meet Carnival to vet him. When the teamster is satisfied, he tells them to meet him at a wearhouse in the Harbor District at midnight in two days time and leaves.
Murgan attunes to the communication orb, and when he is finished the orb start to flash. Murgan answers the call, and the two remaining elven leaders meet with him on the Astral Plane. The drow says that he will meet the Wukies at the Black Heart's werehouse in the Outer City at midnight and for them to bring the orb with them. Murgan agrees and the meeting is ended.
Another knock at the door in the afternoon reveals to me a wrinkly old woman in a hooded cape. She says that she represents the Brotherhood in Arms and that they are interested in purchasing the skooma that the Wukies possess. Findley's samples in the Outer City finally give fruit. When the Wukies ask if she has any proof that she is from the BIA, she lifts her shirt to reveal entire shirt's worth of BIA affiliated tattoos.
She asks that if they are still interested in selling to write a letter to the gang which she will deliver. They agree writing that they're offering 1kg of skooma for 7500gp with an option to buy a second. The gang learn from her that Artur Pendragon on behalf of the Black Heart has been wrecking havoc on both the BIA and the Death Adders, and they need the skooma to help fund the war effort.
With the old gangster gone, the Wukies turn their attention to preparing for their meeting with the Black Heart. They decide that they need to enlist the help of "Dana" the Black Heart Drow wizard they conscripted into their employ. They tell her to meet her at a bar in the Harbor District.
When they arrive, "Dana" is there in disguise as a high elf. They persuade her to come to the meeting with them. In exchange, they promise that they will do all in their power to set her up as the next boss taking Thordus Blackfoot's place. She agrees and tells them she will meet them at the warehouse 30min before the meeting.
Next, the Wukies scout out the warehouse which has been since their last visit raided and pillaged during the gang war. The Wukies clean up some of the corpses laying around and set up their defense. They create an exit on the second floor, repair the elevators, bar one of the large sliding cargo doors, and lay bear traps.
Afterwards most of the gang returns back to Le Mansion des Vomissements for dinner - roasted lamb and rosemary potatoes. They bring some back to Murgan who is still keeping watch at the warehouse.
At the appointed time, Artur Pendragon appears in the warehouse via a dimensional door. With him is a Shadar-kai elf with two pet trolls on a chain leash. The gang negotiates with Pendragon and proposes a deal: the Wukies will try to convince the Brotherhood in Arms to join the Black Heart and bolster his army. In return, Artur will put "Dana" in charge after he leaves the organization when the Kracken is defeated. He says that he agrees with the plan and will take it to the other two leaders for approval.
Missions/Quests Completed
The Wukies have cut a deal with the Black Heart and must deal with the Brotherhood in Arms and perhaps the Black Adders as well.
Murgan and Carnival have a chance to investigate how all of the goods of the city are coming in by sea.
