To achieve enlightenment, and thus salvation, mortals must break free of the physical and spiritual chains that bind them and transcend to a higher way of life. More than any other God, Balaam desires mortals to achieve their fullest potential which in thier eyes and nothing short of godhood itself.   Balaam chooses to not inhabit a corporeal form, and instead uses the gentle quiet power of spirit and wind to guide his followers to enlightenment. Those mortals who are mindful enough to hear and follow often find the inner strength to conquer any challenge. Those who follow Balaams words precisely are often chosen to be an Avatar of Balaam chosen to help others on the path to enlightenment. It is these spiritual powers that touch the soul directly that makes Balaam the associated with enchantment magic.

Tenets of Faith

Harmony fill your soul
Followers of Balaam believe that mortality is temporary, and that the spirit is forever. And so because of that, the worshipers of Balaam tend to have very long sense of time. They believe that self-improvement is an eternal process that one must participate in very small steps every day.   Gratitude is the most important virtue to a follower of Balaam. Balaamites often meditate for and hour or more living "in the moment" and reflecting on all of the blessings for which they should be grateful. Through meditation and spiritual enlightenment, many Balaamites learn to sense the spirit of all things both animate and inanimate. A common practice among the followers of Balaam is to thank their possessions for the service that they give - this is especially true during the Spring Festival when people clean out their houses and get rid of things they do not need.
