Aion, the Lawbearer
The Architect of Order
The Divine Architect
Before time itself had form, before the mountains rose and the rivers sang, there was Aion. Born from the will of Order itself, he was the first to impose structure upon the void. It was he who spoke the first laws, who carved the heavens into their proper places, and who etched the paths of the stars so that all things would know their purpose.
His voice was the chime of celestial harmony, his hands the forge upon which the world was measured. It was Aion who first declared that nothing should exist without reason, that all things must follow their rightful course, and that justice must be upheld above all else.
The Eternal Judge
Aion does not rule through cruelty nor demand obedience through fear. Instead, he is the unshakable standard by which all laws are judged. He is neither cruel nor kind, neither vengeful nor merciful—he is simply just. In the courts of heaven, he presides over the fates of gods and mortals alike, his scales unerring, his decrees absolute.
When Chaos threatened to undo the great work, Aion stood firm, forging the edicts that bound reality in place. Though his brethren took up arms, though the Shield Eternal stood to guard and the Silent Judge weighed souls, it was Aion’s decrees that set the foundation of their war. And when Order fell, it was he who decreed that its remnants be hidden away, lest Chaos take all.
The Sigil of Aion
Aion’s symbol is the perfect scale, balanced and unwavering, set within a hexagon—the strongest of structures. It is found upon the banners of kings who seek righteous rule, upon the seals of judges who swear to uphold law, and upon the armor of those who fight not for conquest, but for justice.
His followers say that to gaze upon this sigil is to know one’s true worth. It is a mirror to the soul, reflecting back all faults and virtues, allowing none to hide from their own deeds.
The Worship of Aion
Temples to Aion are grand halls of law, vast chambers where disputes are settled and decrees are passed. His priests do not speak of mercy, nor do they promise blessings. Instead, they uphold the law, ensuring that all things remain as they were meant to be. To follow Aion is to dedicate oneself to justice, to cast aside personal ambition in favor of what is right.
His champions, the Judicators of Aion, are warriors clad in celestial steel, bearing swords inscribed with unbreakable laws. They do not stray from their duty, nor do they grant clemency to those who knowingly break the sacred order.
The Sleeping Law
When the Eternal War was lost, and Order was shattered, Aion did not fall as some of his kin did. Instead, he retreated into the fabric of reality itself, binding himself to the very laws he created. He is not gone, for every law spoken, every just act, every balance maintained is a whisper of his will.
Some say he slumbers within the firmament, waiting for the time when the world will call him forth once more. Others believe he is awake, watching from beyond the veil, his voice heard only by those who would truly listen.
But one thing is certain—should Chaos rise unchecked, should the world once again teeter on the brink of dissolution, the Lawbearer shall return. And when he does, the world will be weighed, judged, and set right.
The law is not a thing to be bent. It is the foundation upon which all things stand. Break it, and the world crumbles.
