Maringrad opened its borders to foreign dignitaries and trade.
Up until this date, outsiders were killed on sight in Maringrad. Eventually, the Maren decided it may be advantageous to deal with their neighbors and engage in trade. For the first time, foreigners were allowed into Marengrad to conduct trade and other business. The Lycren serving caste were said to be very quiet and shy, while the ruling Maren were all smiles and laughter. The most powerful Maren families became lords and began studying their political opponents' methods and customs.
