Entendre

Whether this is one person or an organization, or an originator and some copycats, ENTENDRE is the name credited with a number of unique arcane artifacts using spoken command words.
The common theme among all the items created by ENTENDRE is that the spoken commands are made up of different ways of pronouncing the same groups of letters.

Examples are:
• HISLAUGHTER which can be spoken as "His Laughter" or "Hi Slaughter"
• SWIMMERMAN which can be spoken as "Swim Merman" or "Swimmer Man"
• NOWHERE which can be spoken as "No Where" or "Now Here", and
• WARTHERE which can be spoken as "War There" or "Wart Here"

None of the objects comes with any sort of instructions, and it is assumed that the wearers must figure out the spoken commands on their own.

History

The inscribed letters are written in the American language, so it is assumed that ENTENDRE is a human or a DeeBee that has mastered the subtelties of the American language, including history and phonetics. That the name ENTENDRE is used also implies a certain amount of cultural knowledge missing from even most humans in the age of Rifts Earth. Thus the identity of ENTENDRE is considered to likely be somone who has amassed a trove of Pre-Rifts artifacts from the Golden Age of Man.
