Days of the Week in North America
Over the course of the last 350+ years, all pre-cataclysm earth culture has been forgotten other than that passed down by oral tradition. This is what has survived for the Days of the Week:
Oneday
Twoday
Weday
Yourday
Fireday
Waterday
Sunday
When children are taught this they use their hands in a way that helps tell the story, typical of young human education methods of the past. When saying "oneday" they extend their right hand out, sticking the left out with "twoday." "Weday" is accompanied by gesturing to oneself with both the extended hands, bringing them in and extending them again in a giving gesture upon "yourday." The fingers of both hands then wiggle upwards for "Fireday" and then downwards for "waterday." Finally with an opening revealing gesture to indicate the sun rising for "sunday."
This is the story of man.
First he is alone.
Then he finds a mate.
Then he forms a family. (Earth belongs to man and his progeny)
Then the visitors come through the rifts.
Then everything is in flames.
Then there are the rains (ice caps melted and world floods).
Finally the sun comes out and dries up the rains. (Normal seasons returned and and water levels recede to almost pre-cataclysm levels).
