Castle Ravengard

Castle Ravengard

Overview:
Castle Ravengard is the majestic home of the ruling Ravengard family, and it serves as the political and military heart of the city of Heaven. The castle is strategically located in the northern part of the city, perched high on the banks of the River Verona, and it’s surrounded by a small wall that offers protection without overwhelming the royal grounds. The architecture of the castle is both breathtaking and formidable, combining the elegance of royalty with the strength of its defensive nature.

The castle’s exterior is adorned with pristine white stone, which gleams in the sunlight, while the roofs are coated in an opulent royal blue, signaling the grandeur of the Ravengard family. From a distance, the castle seems almost ethereal, standing tall against the backdrop of the city's skyline.

Notable Features:

  1. Throne Room
Upon entering the castle, visitors are immediately struck by the grandiose Throne Room, a space designed for both grandeur and power. The ceiling soars to impossible heights, supported by majestic stone pillars that stretch towards the sky. The throne, crafted from pure gold, sits at the far end of the room, its intricately designed backrest symbolizing the strength and authority of the Ravengard dynasty. The room can comfortably seat around a thousand guests during important events, such as banquets or court sessions. The air is thick with the scent of luxury, from the rich tapestries adorning the walls to the polished marble floors.
  2. Royal Family Quarters
The Royal Family Quarters are located on the highest floors of the castle, offering privacy and unparalleled views of Heaven and its surroundings. Here, King Henrik I and his family reside in lavish accommodations, including private chambers, reading rooms, and art galleries. The design of the quarters is a perfect blend of medieval European style and royal extravagance, with richly decorated furniture, large windows, and warm tapestries.
  3. The Queen’s Ballroom
Below the royal family’s quarters is the Queen’s Ballroom, an area reserved for the grandest of celebrations and royal dances. The ballroom’s high arched windows look out onto the royal gardens, letting in the light of the sun by day and the twinkling stars by night. The polished marble floor reflects the light of chandeliers that hang from the ceiling, creating an atmosphere of opulence and enchantment. It is here that the royal court gathers for banquets, diplomatic events, and official balls.
  4. The Dungeons
Beneath the castle lies the Dungeons, the deepest part of the structure, known for its cold and foreboding atmosphere. The dungeon’s cells are used to imprison criminals, traitors, and political prisoners. The air in these dark chambers is thick with the scent of decay, and the walls are lined with iron bars and heavy chains. According to legends, deep within the dungeons is where the last known Great Eagle is held—an enormous mythical creature whose existence has been disputed for centuries. It is said that the eagle’s immense power was once harnessed by the Ravengard family for war, but it was locked away to keep its destructive potential contained.
  5. Tower of Wonder
The Tower of Wonder stands at the highest point of the castle grounds, a structure dedicated to the arcane. Inside the tower, wizards and mages who serve the royal family live and study. The spellslingers here are tasked with protecting the kingdom and assisting in any matters related to magic. The tower is filled with ancient tomes, mysterious potions, and enchanted objects. In addition to serving as a study space, it also houses the royal family’s private collection of magical artifacts. The air in the Tower of Wonder crackles with mystical energy, and the halls echo with the hum of spells being cast and magic being honed.
  6. Tower of War
The Tower of War serves as the headquarters for the Sheriff, who is responsible for overseeing all military operations within Heaven and its surrounding territories. Inside, the chief commander works with officers from the army, navy, and various military branches to plan strategies, maintain the kingdom’s defenses, and coordinate with mercenary forces when needed. The Tower of War is also where military weapons, armor, and battle plans are kept under heavy guard. Its training halls are some of the most advanced in Heaven, where soldiers are drilled in both physical and mental discipline.

Castle Ravengard’s Role in Heaven:
Castle Ravengard is not just a place of luxury and power, but also a critical point of control over Heaven’s defense and governance. It serves as the royal seat, where the Supreme Court holds trials, where the king’s advisors meet, and where strategic military decisions are made. Over the years, the castle has been the site of many turbulent events in Heaven’s history, from political upheaval to sieges and attacks from outside forces. It has stood as a symbol of strength and resilience, a reminder to all that the Ravengard family is a powerful dynasty.
