Purpose / Function

"The World's First Campus for Metahumans" has been the slogan-esque insistence of purpose since founding. A place for those with potent abilities, supernatural, unnatural, or otherwise, to find camaraderie and hone what makes them unique.

Architecture

State-of-the-Art, shiny and new, the Academy's modern campus look is designed with the image of a traditional ivy-league campus in layout, less so in architectural form. The buildings follow modern educational campus design, with angular purpose and paned glass for wider-feeling open doors.
The campus dormitories are a more routine experience, save for the specialized ones designed with particular enrollment needs in mind, such as energy grid usage or air ventilation requirements.

Defenses

While the building itself was designed as an open concept on paper, the realities of controversy quickly veered campus design to a more fundamentally controlling design. A twelve-foot wall surrounds the campus, smooth concrete rather than the kind of pleasing laid brick or iron-wrought fencing that would be expected for the school. Points of entry are limited to checkpoints with constant surveillance, both through camera monitoring and security guards on staff.
Above the campus, a no-fly zone is enacted in the immediate area, with a reactive energy-primed perimeter for drones or other unwanted air presence proving a threat by existing. While students with flight ARE allowed to fly, their main allowance comes through clearance with the internal systems thanks to their own biometric monitoring.
