A Riot in the Square

The companions, with the help of Larius Beardfoot the traveling minstrel, found the town of The Hollows. Entering the town through the western gate, the companions steered clear of the Three Skulls tavern and its 'no dwarves allowed' policy. finding the Dead Man's Hand Inn, the party enjoyed the tunes and free drinks promised by Larius before bedding down for the night.
The following morning, the party rose with the sun and set about the town, eager to make contacts within the town before heading back to the Mithril Docks to collect their pay. Meeting will several merchants including the local blacksmith and herbalist, the companions made their way up to pay respect to the town matriarch, Mrs. Pollmor. The companions discovered the animosity between the Pollmor faction and that led by Yawim, the owner of the Three Skulls. Witnessing a speech by Yawim in the town square, rousing his followers to a froth, it appeared a donnybrook was about to break out between the two factions. Thanks to the smooth tongue of the dwarven peddler, tensions eased and the crowd broke up. The party did notice that Mrs Pollmor took in the whole affair from the porch of her mansion with her ally Stukas, the Rust Brother, watching from the edge of the crowd.
The companions decided to spend another night at the Dead Man before heading out into the wilderness again. In the early morning hours, Old White Eyes and his keen ears picked up strange sounds coming from the common room of inn. With Stensune following close behind, Old White Eyes snuck down the stairs to investigate. Unfortunately, the young fighter was not as stealthy as the cagey wolfkin and the intruder was scared off. The only sign found of the incident was some strange scratch marks on one of the window shutters.
The next morning, on the 43rd day of Springrise, the companions picked up the provisions promised by Mrs Pollmor at the southern gate and headed off toward Mithril Docks.
