Dire Retribution
A curse applied by the armour crafted by skinning the hides of Sanguine Bears. The bears are skinned alive when possible to preserve the power of their hides. When an individual wears Sanguine Living Armour the curse is permanently applied to them.
Transmission & Vectors
The curse is transmitted when the individual wears Sanguine Living Armour for the first time.
Causes
The cause of the curse is still being studied to this day. The leading theory is that the hatred and desire for revenge held by the Sanguine Bears was transfered into the Sanguine Living Armour when they were skinned alive for their hides.
Treatment
Extreme disfigurement and pain, the metal of the armour stabs and rends through the flesh and surrounds the wearers heart in a threatening act of fusion.
Prognosis
Stage 1: Immense period of pain and the user is rendered unable to move for months with nothing but the armour sustaining their life.
Stage 2: The fusion with the armour is completed and the wearer is granted with immense magical and physical power.
Stage 3: During this stage the first signs of corruption occur, the user maddens with delusions of grandeur and power. These delusions often manifest in acts of violence, which deepen this madness and propels the individual to stage 4.
Stage 4: The Individual loses all sense of self and begins to function on instinct alone, the Armours hatred, Malice and desire for blood drives the wearer to slaughter any it comes across.
Stage 5: The user turns on itself in a final act of horrifying violence, despite the curse the user begins to 'skin' the armour from their body in a twisted mirror of how the armour was created in the first place. The user rips and skins the armour off their flesh, culminating in pulling the metal spikes fused with their heart from their resting place, killing the individual.
Stage 6: Yet to be observed.
