Locomotive

The locomotive changed many things. Distances got smaller, large scale mining was improved and many other things.   In the Adirondack Mountains they were used for mining operations to carry the mined ore to the furnaces.   They were the cause of various Forest Fires while the locomotives used coal to power their steam engines. The terrible fires in the early 20th century made it so that the government started to force the companies to use steel neting around the locomotives to catch sparks and prevent fires. Later on the trains were replaced with diesel powered locomotives.   The locomotive shortened many distances across the world for many people. More folks could travel much further which resulted in new connections being made in the supernatural world. This has caused a lot of changes within the supernatural society as more and more communities came into contact with each other in combination with other technologies. These changes sometimes resultet in violent conflict as suddenly new species came into contact with each other, but in other times they found common ground and new ways of supporting each other.   Construction of railways cut through many habitats and regularly came into conflict with supernatural creatures and communities. Large construction projects were often accompanied by a squad or regiment of Hunters to ensure the safety of the workers and materials.   Locomotives can be powered by steam and coal, diesel or electricity. However, some trains in the early days in supernatural communities replaced the coal with a fire elemental trapped within the steam engine making it a long enduring source of power. However, this eventually uses up the fire elemental.
