Sunday

Once every five years a wonderful event occurs. For one day the sun shines in the sky once more, and it is a time of vastly mixed reactions for the people of the world. Some see it as a time to celebrate, some as a time to gather rare resources, and others as a day of revererance. Whatever the case, most people of the world look forward to it with a measure of excitement and joy.   It occurs on the same day every five years precisely, and at the same time the Constellations disappear from the sky for a ful 28 hours, or a days cycle. The sun will rise and follow it's course across the sky then set below the horizon, there will follow a night without the Constellations. Then exactly twenty eight hours after the sun appearing it wil simply go out again for another five years.   Why it occurs is as much a mystery as to why The Dimming occured in the first place. The GBC use it as a justification for the declaration of Constellations as Anathema. They say that each time the sun comes back the Constellations vanish, this means their plan to destroy the Constellations has to be right. The Astronomers, while agreeing there is definitely a correlation, think this response may be a little extreme and continue to gather data.   The effect this one day of sunshine has on certain life forms on the planet is quite staggering. Some plants grow at an alarming rate, others burst into seed, some curl up on themselves to hide, and some even whither and die. Algae has a tendency to spread across ponds and pools at a vast rate, the bog lands and marshes become alive with swarms of insects, and thus birds. Only those creatures with a sensitivity to light seem to hide away from this day.
