Rock Top Cuisine

Rock Top is a style and type of cooking used by the people of Secret Hideout, which involves the use of a very hot rock, and is designed for food that can be cooked hot and quick.   Fedron Nawaha, who had fled here with his wife and young son about six years ago, was the one who discovered the thermal properties of Firestone, whilst out looking for food. Unfortunately he discovered it the hard way by accidently touching it, fortunately he put his down on it before he sat down, or it could have been a lot worse. As it was, he merely suffered a few blisters on the palm of his right hand.   Firestone is a rock mineral, with a striated pattern of red, orange and green running through it. It can be found in large chunks, and when split open to expose a section of its reflctive inside becomes very hot under certain Constellations. When he told others after he got back home, he made a comment about how you could have cooked on it. This got one of the other villagers curious, as they were a cook by trade before fleeing here, so they brought a slab of the mineral back, and tried cooking on it.   Rock Top cuisine is really just anything cooked on a Firestone rock, however it lends itself to things that can be cooked quickly over a high heat. It is not a form of cooking used all of the time, as the Constellation required is not always present in the sky, and it can only be used for certain foods. Food cooked Rock Top style usually consists of thin strips or small chunks of fish or meat, thinly sliced vegetables, certain fungi and mushrooms, and thin flat breads of both the savoury and sweet variety.   Most people eat it by wrapping a selection of meat and vegetables in a flat bread, either rolling it up or simply folding it in half. The meat is generally spiced or marinated with whatever is in local season, so the flavours can vary depending on the time of year or Constellation season.
