Spellweaver Convocation
The Spellweaver Convocation is an organization founded by the current Sovereign Lady, and their younger sibling, that sponsors the research of royal mages. These mages are appointed by a combination of merit and lineage, with individuals from houses given preference. One royal mage is appointed for each school of magic, and can then select assistants and apprentices that work underneath them. While the Phenada Empire gives resources to members of the Spellweaver Convocation, members in turn pledge their loyalty to the Empire.
Structure
Each school of magic has a main representative in the convocation, called a royal mage. Royal mages may have assistants that help handle their daily affairs and personal research, apprentices that they teach, and institutions that they manage. Funding and other resources are delegated to royal mages yearly when an assembly is held between all royal mages, the Sovereign Lady, and any royal advisors the Sovereign wishes to be in attendance.
Current royal mages include:
- Lindë Agat, School of Abjuration
- Illith Lugela, School of Conjuration
- Beiris Tasarolwen Phenon, School of Divination
- Eathiel Leothan, School of Enchantment
- Yesthyra Ofine, School of Evocation
- Raith Agat, School of Illusion
- Orle Brlynn, School of Transmutation
Public Agenda
The Spellweaver Convocation was originally established to both boost the arcane capabilities of the Phenada Empire and foster new talent among all classes of citizens. With the majority of royal mages being from houses, and therefore of the noble class, there has been less focus on teaching those of lower birth. However, some royal mages still respect the original purpose of the organization and place worth solely on arcane merit.
