Roptera (Rop-ter-a)

Roptera are a bat-like race of beastfolk. Most notably, roptera are quite tall compared to other races, with large ears contributing to a portion of this height. They have short thin fur in colors ranging from black, brown, red, tan, and pale white with natural mixtures of any or all. Roptera also have flat noses that are not very usefull, as their main sense is hearing. Unlike bats, roptera are competely grounded, though most ropteran structures can be found by scaling the bark of large trees or the walls of caves.

Culture

Positive Attitude & Altitude

Roptera are communal by nature. Newborns are cared for by the whole colony, each individual caring for all pups as if they were their own. Roptera show their affection for others in their colonies physically, and can often be seen clustering close to one another when socializing. Toward other bestial races, most roptera are friendly and even flamboyant. It is not uncommon for other races to mingle within roptera colonies. Roptera communities can be found carved into the trees of large forests, dug into the walls of dark caves lit by lanterns, or built on the plateaus of cliffs. Though they lack the ability to fly, roptera are exceedingly dextrous.
