Briarbuck (Bri-er-bu-k)

Briarbucks are stout rodent-like beastfolk covered by thick spiny quills. Their fur is commonly shades of brown, but ranges to colors like red and grey. They have dark eyes set aside an elongated snout with sharp, but small, teeth. While quadrapedal in nature, they have the capacity to stand and wield weapons thanks to a specialized thumb-like bone in their front paws.

Culture

Tenacious Clans

These creatures live in family groups deep within the darkest and most dangerous forests, and have become accustomed to the hardships inside. Briarbucks are known to hunt in small packs and prowl the surrounding land for prey. The clans are governed and organized by an elder matriarch who makes decisions according to the needs of the group. Maturity is often pushed for in young ones, as the weak and feeble are only liabilities for the tribe. Briarbucks are able to use weapons, but when fighting one of their own or someone they view as an equal, they find that disrespectful.
