Telío Alori

He Who Walks All Paths

"An excellent conversationalist and a rather stand up fellow, if I may so myself." - Telío Alori

Abilities

Telío's most notable power stems from an incredibly potent cloning spell he invented some time ago. Traditional spells allow for a clone to sit it stasis for if something happens to the caster, or for a single false, lesser copy to be active at the same time that cannot replace the original. But Telío has unleashed something greater; a theoretically unlimited number of copies active at once that can serve as a backup main body, and when one of them dies, all of their collected knowledge returns to the master version.   He has used this ability to become a terrifyingly powerful generalist, since he is able to dedicate an entire lifetime to a single idea and then reap the rewards when that clone dies. He is a master swordsman and archer, able to cast both divine and arcane spells at the highest levels, expert at using every kind of tool or skill, and more. The only downside is that the creation of a clone saps a notable amount of the original's energies, leaving Telío's main body weaker until the copy expires and replenishes their soul.   While he has unlimited options for how to fight, he generally favours his own specialised form of Bladesinging that utilises both teleportation and telekinesis to control multiple floating swords at once, ensuring that a foe can be struck from any angle at any time.

Appearance

Beautiful, elegant, and fairly androgynous, as is to be expected for a High Elf, Telío generally has several gold-threaded braids amongst long, shining black hair. Their standard outfit is usually a mostly simple blue robe, a masterfully crafted sword by their side, and a golden diadem used to distinguish Telío "Prime", the master copy, from all the lesser versions.

Personality

With a near permanent smirk upon their lips, Telío has gained a reputation for arrogance and having a flippant disregard of societies rules, believing such rules do not apply to someone as powerful as them. Often taking actions for the sake of mere amusement rather than some grand plan like the other Immortals, it seems that Telío's only real care or desire is for becoming absolute perfection and power itself; everything else is just a way to pass the time.

History

Astronomical Ascension

Traditionally, the other Immortals all spent many years if not decades proving themselves worthy of entering the all powerful cabal: destroying impossibly dangerous foes, surviving uncountable assassination attempts, showcasing their grandest displays of magic, etc. Telío broke every record there had ever been, and within a single year of mastering their cloning spell, they had clearly impressed their future peers enough to join the group after the shortest trial period in history.

Fall From Grace

Enjoying the high life of being an Immortal would not last long, for a flaw emerged in some of Telío's clones; they began having truly independent thoughts, harboring ideas of breaking free from their master. They began to generate clones of themselves and each other, turning the measured, controlled creation into an exponentially increasing cascade. Worse still, even if clones were not made of the master copy, they nevertheless stole power from Telío Prime.   Having lost enough energy that they could no longer access their most powerful abilities, Telío was discretely removed from Immortal Halls, at least until they can reclaim their strength. In the end, Telío was officially an Immortal for barely more than a decade before being kicked out, a vanishingly short amount of time for what is supposed to be an eternal position.
