Laws of Ósa
There are many laws that govern the world; some are decided by the Immortals, others by the senate, and others still by the individual rulers of the many federal cities in in Ósa.
Republic Laws
The Law of Xenia is absolute - if a stranger requests a bed and board one must be a gracious host, lest you risk being rude to a God in disguise. Refusing a guest in need without good reason carries the punishment of a fine, the exact amount widely variable across Ósa. Being a poor guest or poor host can have penalties dependant on what was done, often to be decided by the nearest authority. Killing a guest while you are hosting them, or killing a host while you are their guest, carries the death penalty, for fear of alerting the Furies if such an act is not punished swiftly and decisively. Patricide and Matricide both carry the death penalty, for fear of alerting the Furies if such an act is not punished swiftly and decisively. Murder of a Plebian is punishable by a 1 gold fine paid to the family of the deceased*. Murder of an Aposýros, Klirikós, or Várdos is punishable by a 10 gold fine paid to the family of the deceased*. Murder of a Mágos or Ágios is punishable by death for anyone of lower class, and banishment for anyone of equal or greater class*. Murder of a Senator or Consul carries the death penalty*. Worship of heretical gods is punishable by fine, whipping, banishment, or death depending on the God, and to be decided by each region.- Those worshipping Gods unique to their race may be exempt.
