Aurora, Sunspear of Talsia

The Light

Description

This brightly shining spear is the holy weapon of Talsia herself, used by her champion to strike down any who would defy her light. With a handle of stars and spearhead of intricately woven gold, a miniature sun rests eternally beneath the tip.

History

Hero of Great Potential

In most recent times this spear was granted to a hero named Atlas, that he may attempt to prove himself worthy of being the dual champion of Talsia and Lútus at the same time.

Stats

Radiance of the Sun

This spear grants a +3 bonus to attack and damage rolls made with it. When you hit with an attack using this spear, the target takes an extra 2d8 radiant damage. You may heal yourself or an ally within 30ft for the radiant damage dealt each attack.

Luminous

The spear sheds bright light in a 30-foot radius and dim light for an additional 30 feet. The light is sunlight and can only be obscured by darkness spells of 7th level or higher.

Blinding Retaliation

When you take damage from a creature within 5 feet of you, you can use your reaction to make a melee attack with the spear against that creature. On a hit, the spear deals damage as normal, and the creature is blinded until the start of its next turn.   You can use this reaction a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus each day, recharging at dawn.

Brightest Dawn

Relying on the sun's power during the darkest moments, you can cast Mass Heal with this spear as an action. Once you have used this property it cannot be used again until a month has passed.

Divine Spellcasting

The spear has 15 charges. While holding it, you can use an action to expend 1 or more of its charges to cast one of the following spells (save DC 18) from it: guiding bolt (1 charge), cure wounds (1 charge per level used), daylight (3 charges, targetting the tip of the spear only), flame strike (5 charges), sunbeam (6 charges), Holy Aura (8 Charges).   The spear regains 1d10+5 expended charges daily at dawn.

Blessing of the Sun

If you are a worshiper of Talsia, you gain all the following benefits for which you have the required piety:
  • Piety 3: You gain 15 temporary hit points each dawn. If you are not proficient with this weapon, you become proficient.
