Wizard
Wizards are professional magic users who do not have a more specific career. They often work as advisors for government officials, or have private practices. Wizarding school costs a great deal of money, and wizards often charge a lot for their services. It is quickly becoming a popular career, especially in the Ashfire region.

Career
Qualifications
In order to qualify for a position in government or a private practice, you need to attend wizarding school for at least three years and acquire a bachelors in at least one kind of magic. Most Private practices require more than one, or a higher degree.
The most popular degrees are Defensive Magic, Divination, and Enchantment.
Payment & Reimbursement
Most jobs in Wizardry pay extremely well. The government positions can pay upwards of 10 gold an hour, and salaries at private practices can get alarmingly high.
Other Benefits
The main benefit beyond the pay is the ability to safely and efficiently perform advanced magic. This can be a highly useful life skill.
In some places, being a Wizard will also get you some social recognition and respect. This is especially common in the higher classes, though it is less effective with nobles.
