Agatha Whitecrest

Mistress Agatha Whitecrest (a.k.a. The Crone)

Born nearly a century ago, Agatha's history would be too much to recount if the majority of it wasn't spent in pursuit of personal gratification. She has some noteworthy accomplishments though - there's a string of spurned lovers and abandoned children stretching the span of Golarion, as well as a number of decades-old wanted posters in Brevoy bearing a much younger version of her face, decrying her for crimes she may or may not have committed: murder, banditry, smuggling, and the like.   Around the shackles, there's old, obviously-exaggerated tales of a young woman matching her description that escaped being sacrificed by a tribe of cannibals before alternately being lost in the Eye of Abendago or having her ship destroyed by a red dragon.   If one knew where to look, one could even find rumors of footnotes in Irrisen history books about a lost Jadwiga that fled the country, which implies that she has blood from The Hag - Baba Yaga herself - in her veins.   Surely there's no truth to a history as varied and conflicting as this - surely one person couldn't legitimately have lived as many lives as Agatha claims.   The only solid truth behind Agatha's history is that she has not lived a good life, and rarely spent more than a few years in one place, plying her trade as the rare legitimate traveling prostitute - not "courtesan", she's quick to point out, as that implies a level of class that she doesn't bother with.

Physical Description

General Physical Condition

As one would expect, she's as frail as any woman of her obscene age, hunched over with the posture of a shrimp in her wheelchair.

Body Features

She sports the usual amount of limbs for a human.

Facial Features

While pretty in her youth, Agatha's face is now leathery and deeply cragged by age.

Identifying Characteristics

Bound to a wheelchair, usually accompanied by a white bat familiar.

Special abilities

While she CAN hover about five feet off the ground, she prefers not to, as that would attract undue attention. Plus, it's more amusing for her hireling to push her wheelchair around.

Apparel & Accessories

As she's constantly traveling, Agatha wears simple, sturdy clothing that can be easily mended and cleaned with her cantrips. She wears her Holy Symbol around her neck - a lacquered disc of white oak crowned with seven points on the top half. Its face depicts a set of smirking, feminine lips painted midnight blue, and it's suspended on a wooden chain around her neck - every bit carved from the same piece of wood.

Mental characteristics

Personal history

Agatha's personal history is long, varied, and most likely embellished. Even she's not sure how much of it's true or not.

Gender Identity

Strongly feminine, as much as that applies in Golarion. She's comfortable in her body and prefers not to muddle things with gender roles.

Sexuality

Enthusiastic, despite her age. Prefers to take the lead.

Education

Dropped out of a Magnimar Golemworks apprenticeship after her age rendered her unfit for the physical requirements of the task. Otherwise self-taught.

Employment

Independent - follows whatever whim overtakes her and tries to make a buck that way.

Accomplishments & Achievements

Alas, Agatha has accomplished next to nothing substantial in her life.

Failures & Embarrassments

Agatha has one overarching embarrassment: the fact that the entirety of her youth was squandered on vain pursuits of self-gratification.

Mental Trauma

She's seen and outlived too many people that have died in the throes of dementia, instilling a fear of that same fate befalling her, knowing that she's basically helpless in preventing it.

Intellectual Characteristics

Burdened by a wealth of experience. She knows a little about a lot, but not a lot about a little, as the saying goes.

Morality & Philosophy

"Life is meant to feel good, and if you're suffering than you're doing it wrong."

Recently, she has started taking a more legacy-oriented outlook, knowing that her days are limited to only a few digits these days.

Taboos

Not many. Refuses to murder without a good reason.

Personality Characteristics

Motivation

Feeling the weight of years on her back, Agatha's main motivation is to leave some sort of impact on the world - preferably beneficial, as the work of tyrants tends to be torn down as soon as possible.

Savvies & Ineptitudes

While keen of mind, even in the dusk of her life, her body is obviously frail, and mobility is an obvious problem.

Likes & Dislikes

While inordinately fond of new experiences, those are in rather short supply after almost nine decades of life. Thus, she settles for at least a varied routine, to keep things from growing overly stale.

Her biggest hatred is boredom, and boring people by extension.

Virtues & Personality perks

Agatha is fairly devoid of virtue. Her biggest would be the fact that she doesn't murder unless she feels like someone REALLY deserves it.

Vices & Personality flaws

While she knows better than to indulge in vices that have a wasting effect on the body, Agatha is still a creature that very much demands constant stimulation to stave off boredom.

One could also accuse her of being generous, if they didn't know that she simply doesn't have much care for the value of currency.

Hygiene

Agatha keeps herself as clean as possible with Prestidigitation being a permanent fixture in her prepared cantrips, with Mending being another.

Social

Contacts & Relations

"Patsy", an unskilled laborer that pushes her wheelchair around, day in and day out.

Family Ties

No acknowledged living relatives.

Religious Views

While technically a Demon Lord, Agatha worships Nocticula, understanding that even a demon can transform itself if given enough time and incentive. Unfortunately for her, Agatha is merely a mortal, and it's far too late for her to make any dramatic turnarounds. The best she can do is lessen the damnation upon her soul.

Social Aptitude

Comfortable in social situations, Agatha tends to take the lead in negotiations - though she avoids haggling unless there's something she desperately wants.

Mannerisms

Inordinately patient, Agatha tends to view those around her as children - and will even treat people as such if she disapproves(or approves) of their behavior enough.

Hobbies & Pets

Bartok - a white bat familiar. If asked about the name, she claims it's a reference to a story from the current Queen of Irrisen's homeland. Nobody has any idea what this story could be.

Bartok is empowered to assist her in her hobbies of sculpture and carpentry, as well as magic item creation, once she has the funding for it.

Speech

Whatever accent she originally had when speaking Taldane, it's long since faded and been covered up by bits and pieces of accents picked up in her decades of wandering the planet. The most recognizable fragmentary accents are present in the way she pronounces certain words - mostly Shoanti and Irrisen, with bits and pieces from the Shackles.

It's too consistent to merely be affectation.

Wealth & Financial state

A small pouch of gold coins, a spellbook, and a high-quality set of carpentry tools. Additionally, a set of sculpting tools of middling quality.

An ancient crone bound to a wheelchair, having squandered her youth on selfish pursuits in the name of hedonism. She started her adventuring career with nothing to her name but a ruined body, three silver, and experience.

The First Entry
19th of Gozran, 4725

I don't much know how to start things like this, and this is my first time putting pen to paper for anything approaching constructive reasons.   I suppose the beginning would be as good a place to start as any. What I remember of it, at least.   Nearly a century ago - or perhaps more than a century, as time has a funny way of slipping by - a little girl was born in the wastes of Irrisen. The child of a nameless soldier and an equally-nameless who caught his eye. She was an inconvenient thing, and passed off - though whoever raised her left such a dim impression that I can't even remember them. Few leave the Land of Witches, and this girl was one of those few some years later. Over the next decade, she found her way into Varisia, and then further south as part of the crew of the Dour Lass, having so many adventures and affairs that they all blend together. This ended, of course, as many seafaring adventures do: following a daring escape from a hostile island, the captain of the Dour Lass sailed her too close to the Eye of Abendago, predictably ending with the loss of nearly every soul on board save for a handful of sailors. One of these sailors drifted on a chunk of the mizzenmast until she reached landfall and continued her wanderings of Golarion.   In time, she made her way to Brevoy, falling in with - and eventually coming to lead - a small camp of bandits based in the Narlmarches. It was a rough life, filled with avoiding the eyes of Fey and worse. Around the time a troll found her camp, this bandit decided that more respectable occupations were in order, and so she crossed the border to the south, plying her trade as a streetwalker while stashing coin away throughout the surrounding wilderness.   Eventually, she had amassed a decent fortune - enough to pave the way back to Varisia, and to true power: wizardry. Specifically, this ne'er-do-well had made a friend in her last visit to the region, and learned of the Golemworks of Magnimar. All it took was the right sort of convincing and the purchase of the proper materials, and this now-aged woman was on the path to riches, learning how to create rudimentary golems. Little more than animated children's toys, though.   It's impossible to truly defeat age though, and while she had enough foundation to build upon, this woman lacked the strength to carry through. Or so they claimed - she sits here now, penning the beginnings of her memoirs, filling her spellbooks with half-remembered details and plotting. Planning the next steps of her ascent into legend.
