The Dawn Sphere was created and used by The Dawn Maiden to begin and complete The Ascension. It was created by crystallizing the souls of each Celestial that fell during the Ten-Thousand Year War and magically binding them into a large sphere. No one knows where the Dawn Sphere is today, but many myths and legends exist about its whereabouts or disappearance.   The Dawn Sphere is a large crystal-like ball that has an azure blue hue to it but is completely translucent. Due to its size and weight, it requires two hands to wield.

Mechanics & Inner Workings

The Dawn Sphere harnesses the celestial power from the crystallized souls used in its creation to both enhance the abilities of the user and grant certain spells to the user.
Summer Camp Prompt: Describe a valuable historical or ancient artefact in your world.
While attuned to The Dawn Sphere you gain +2 bonus to Wisdom and Intelligence Saving Throws and +1 bonus to Arcana and History checks. The Dawn Sphere can be used as an arcane focus.   The Dawn Sphere has 12 charges, and it regains 1d8 + 4 expended charges every dawn. You can expend charges as follows for the following effects:
  • As an action, at will, you can cast the light spell extended to a radius of 40 feet emanating from the sphere.
  • As a bonus action, you can expend 1 charge to cast the shield of faith spell from the sphere.
  • As an action, you can expend 1 charge to cast the zone of truth spell from the sphere.
  • As an action, you can expend 2 charges to cast the sending spell from the sphere.
  • As an action, you can expend 3 charges to instantly cast the magic circle spell from the sphere.
  • As an action, you can expend 5 charges to cast the scrying spell from the sphere.
  • As an action, you can expend 10 charges to cast the perfect levitation spell from the sphere.
  If all of the charges are expended from the sphere it is not destroyed, but it will not regain any charges at the following dawn. Instead, a 24 hour time period must pass before it will regain charges.
