The Lute of Línethrós

Creator

Línethrós held the position of the Shaper of Sound and the First Crown Petal behind the Weavers of Symmetry (The Gathering).

He was considered a gifted skald and a dedicated lutemaker. An instrument which gave him the highest prowess was the dark brown lute with silver strings, later to be known as the Lute of Línethrós.

Description

The body was of polished walnut, with thirteen ribs and thirteen knots like curious almond eyes. The neck blended into the warm tree-shaped headstock as if the two grew together for hundreds of years, embracing each other ever so gently and yet so firm. But the greatest masterpiece were the carvings on the fingerboard and on the soundboard, white as snow resembling dogwood but with wood rings weaved dense and neat. Línethrós had used thin veneers of different colours and depicted the full route of the Bloom ritual. The deeper the cut, the darker were the colors. It started in the fiery rosette in the center of the soundboard, from whence the colorful braid ascended the roots. The light made space for dark and connected with it, to become hazy and greyish at the trunk.
