Return ritual

The Return ritual is a death rite held by the lotus harveters that makes one mold with the circle of life, they were part of.
As lotus harvesters form a connection with their blood lotuses, the body can mold with the plant.
Traditionally, several parts of the connected blood lotus are taken and placed on the body:
    • root - placed on the middle part of the chest, hands; this is to guide the hand that touches the tool with a feeling and an urge of emotion of The Returned. Depending on the will of the person that passed away, the root may put on the feet as well - from them the new plants will live on carrying a connection to that person
    • flower bud - put on the head, between the eyes and slightly above the eyebrow line; The flower molds ever so slightly with the person and opens during the course of minutes. It lasts for a whole day, during which the nectar is sipped by the butterflies and moths.
    • a single seed - put on the heart; as it takes in all the iron it forms a small bead. A pierce will be made in it beforehand to enable one to put a thread inside; If the pierce is not made beforehand, it is not made afterwards as the ferrated grain symbolizes the very person. To pierce through it afterwards is thought of as cruel, insensitive and barbaric. Beeds like these are either treasured at home in special places or are held by other materials, e.g., lace, wood, crystal.
