Blood lotus ritual

The blood lotus ritual is celebrated by lotus harvesters to welcome an individual into the adulthood.
  After revealing the first signs of puberty, the person is given their first 8 seeds of blood lotus. Eight, as a good luck charm to never lost in the wandering world, blood lotus, because of its ability to connect to their caregiver.
  The seeds are nurtured on a mixture of blood, lakewater and sand usually for one turn of the moon. During that time, the seed is supposed to make a connection with the owner of the blood. Afterwards, all parts of the plant show affinity with the caregiver, e.g., no toxicity of the roots (normally poisonous), melding ability of the transpiration segments with the lotus silk fabric.
  Origin of the name As the name suggests, the ritual is named after the blood lotus, a lotus variety natively growing in the Cymru region.
