The Eyeless Sea
The 8th sea
"The black waters of the 8th sea surround the Conquest. My crew is starved and all thirst. The creatures the natives call Leviathans have attacked the Conquest many a time and pursue us to this very minute. Our Journey for the Forbidden Isle shall not end. For the reward is too great to stop now. For we are too far to turn back for supplies. I now steer the Conquest onward to my goal."
-4th Journey,
Alan the Adventurer
History of name:
The Eyeless sea got it's name from the black fog that covers it's surface. The fog poisons the eyes and causes those who come in contact with it to lose their sight permanently. It is also called the 8th sea because of it being hidden from the Overworld. The Overworld contains 7 great seas, and 7 great lands. The Eyeless sea is the 8th sea.
Geography
400 miles underground, the 8th sea is a never ending expanse of black water 5 miles deep. Rock pillars are the only kind of land to be found except for two islands as far away from each other as possible. The larger of the two islands is called the 8th land. The smaller is called the Forbidden Isle. The rock pillars scattered around the waters hold up a roof 5 miles above the surface of the water. Black fog covers most of the waters and blind any sailor who comes near.

Natural Resources
One fresh water spring is at the center of both islands. These springs are key to the survival of any island inhabitant. These springs provide the only fresh water to be found throughout the 8th sea. The 8th sea is the only place where Tribinite is available to mine. Deep sea grasslands contain many native plants and provide a home for some of the native creatures. The 8th sea is lit up by billions of huge glow worms that crawl and climb on the cavern roof. They provide enough light to see as if it were a full moon and more. When the creatures die, they fall down to the cavern floor. Either into the Eyeless sea, or on land where people are able to collect them and use their dead bodies for all sorts of useful things. Such as flameless lanterns, or fuel for fire.
